More Cafepress joy

You know, Cafepress is doing an undoubtedly profitable but also really useful thing by providing a limited book publishing service. It's so cool that people can now self-publish books with a probably-limited audience. The on-demand services are also cool, but appear to be much more costly. So, yeah.

Because I received in the mail today from Cafepress a nice crisp copy of Marion Ingham's Gods & Goddesses: A Handbook for Heathens--it's a discussion of the heathen gods, each in turn, including not only excellent lore references but the author's (and others') more personal perceptions, always identified as such. Really cool idea, and nicely done! :)

Edit: Oh yeah, you can get it here:

I'd love to get a copy of that too. Can you give me info on where to go?

:) I haven't finished it yet but I've skimmed it and so far I'm impressed.

I will have to look into it more. I thought I read a 100pg book would be $10 (on demand). Which honestly is how much it's going to cost at barnes and noble.

My husband is insanely pumped up about it (for RPG and fantasty novels)

It does look like a good option. AFAIK you have to do all your own layout and so forth, but enough people have a bit of desktop publishing experience that that shouldn't be a problem.

:) I was trained for it, but college was almost 15 years ago, and I haven't stayed current at all. I know enough to do stuff on a volunteer basis but I'm pretty sure I'm not really marketable these days.

He can do every thing from design to preflight to press checks. Currently he is doing packaging and manuals for Abbott Diabities Care.... blood sugar monitors.

Funny, it was my career 13 years ago and I still dabble : )

How cool that! And I had enough Cafe dollars in my account to cover it. I guess someone bought something with my mural on it. That's cool too.
